In case we've yet to meet: "Hi, I'm Adam Geller." Oh, and about that tagline above, I like to think I'm helping to rewrite the rules for expectations about public education in America.
Currently I am an Education Ventures fellow with the Kauffman Foundation and am working to launch R3 Collaboratives -- a video-based teacher improvement platform. Previously I worked for Teach For America on their national strategy team. I am also the founder and sit on the board of a nonprofit called Teach For Us which connects Teach for America teachers and shares their stories.
I operate with a mindset of creative dissatisfaction for the status quo. I believe that the always-threatening wolves in education are low expectations, out-of-date pedagogy, lackluster leadership, and dogmatic reverence for only the traditional theory and practice for educating today's students. We must disrupt the way we've always done things in order to allow for innovation to take place.
I hold a master's in education with an emphasis on secondary administration from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. I have passed the Interstate Leaders Licensure Assessment with a qualifying score for all 18 participating states.
Outside of fixing education, I enjoy distance cycling, singing classical arias while idling around the house, and applying new technologies to everyday life. I have a desire (and requisite skill) to sing the national anthem at professional sporting events. I mention this in case you'd like to invite me.
